Shannon Carroll, PMHNP-BC

Founder · Lead Provider

Shannon founded MetroNP in New York in 2014 and has spent more than a decade providing psychiatric care to creative professionals. A board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and adjunct faculty member at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, he is also a standup comedian who has performed at Gotham Comedy Club and New York Comedy Club and is a proud member of Theatre68 and Manhattan Comedy School, so the artists he treats are his own community.

As lead provider for MetroNP Boston, he oversees all clinical care. A Cambridge Rindge and Latin alum, he is excited to bring MetroNP home.

Mara Bresnahan, RN, BSN

PMHNP Student · Accessibility Coordinator

Mara brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to MetroNP Boston, with clinical interests in anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and relationship concerns. She focuses on young adults in transition and creative professionals, drawing on an extensive background in film, the arts, and accessibility work.

Mara is pursuing her PMHNP at Northeastern University and provides care under Shannon’s clinical supervision. Also a Cambridge Rindge and Latin alum, she is excited to serve her community in a new way.
