MetroNP is coming home. The same boutique, person-centered psychiatric care we've provided in New York since 2014 — medication management, psychotherapy, and Comedy Group Therapy — is opening in Boston for creative professionals, students, and artists. Our office in Union Square, Somerville is coming soon.

Shannon Carroll

PMHNP-BC · Founder & Lead Provider

Shannon founded MetroNP in New York in 2014 and has spent more than a decade providing psychiatric care to creative professionals. A board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, adjunct faculty member at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and creator of Comedy Group Therapy (CGT), he is also a working standup comedian who has performed at Gotham Comedy Club and New York Comedy Club — so the artists he treats are his own community. As lead provider for MetroNP Boston, he oversees all clinical care. As a Cambridge Rindge and Latin alum, he is excited to bring MetroNP home.

Mara Bresnahan

RN, BSN · PMHNP Student · Accessibility Coordinator

Mara brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to MetroNP Boston, with clinical interests in anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and relationship concerns. She focuses on young adults in transition and creative professionals, drawing on an extensive background in film, the arts, and accessibility work. Mara is currently pursuing her PMHNP at Northeastern University and provides care under clinical supervision. As a Cambridge Rindge and Latin alum, she is excited to be serving her community in a new capacity.

Boutique care shouldn't mean out-of-pocket. MetroNP bills through Headway, which means we're in-network with major commercial insurance plans and your eligibility is verified before your first visit.
